Yrael grins as she steps out from the bar and into the deserted alleyway and the New Orleans early evening. She glances over her shoulder to see Liz and Nikola follow her through the door, which closes behind them.

"We've got a while before I have to be there for my gig," she grins at them, "so I thought I'd show you around the French Quarter."

Since, and she may be ever so slightly sheepish about this, she hasn't gotten around to doing so before.

"I thought of you when I came across it," Yrael grins. Refined, antiquated, spiky and deadly!

"This type of cane was made, along with its sister canes La Terrible and La Redoutable, in early 19th century France. They were almost immediately made illegal."

Liz makes a lovely, and comfortable back-warmer for the vampire, and he leans slightly into her warmth.

"I've heard of them," Nikola says. "I didn't realize it was still up for grabs."

Greed? In Nikola's eyes? Never!

Liz is even better when she's purring too, in her opinion. Like now, the faintest, more felt where her chin rests on his shoulder than heard, purr.

"You going to fix that?" The being up for grabs part.

Yrael chuckles slightly at the look in Nikola's eyes, then says, idly. "It is. Though La Diabolic the last one here. This place used to have all three, but La Terrible and La Redoutable have been sold."

Enablers? Them?

It's more likely than you think.

"Well, in that case," Nikola says. "I'd better liberate it, hadn't I?"

Liz nods without actually lifting her chin. "Give it a good home so it won't be lonely here."

"It's the best thing for it, in all truthfulness," she nods, smiling at Nikola.

"What about you, Liz? You find anything sparkly enough to suit you?"

Nikola takes the cane and carefully lowers the spikes, glancing over his shoulder at Liz to hear her answer.

"A couple things are sparkly enough to suit me."

She nips Nikola's shoulder, having enough practice to know how to get it felt through clothes without leaving much of any trace of what she's done to said clothes, and then moves over to the jewelry and points out two pieces.

The first piece is just a pretty, sparkly necklace. Liz doesn't usually like pink, but she'd make an exception for the size of the sapphire in it. The second piece that's specifically caught her attention has the same stones as the first, just more collar like. Which might be stunning both on her neck and against all of the black of her fur if they knew what her leopard looked like.

"Ooh," a slow, pleased smile crosses Yrael's face. "Very sparkly. I think... it would depend on what you were wearing, which of the two would work best. The second would seem to be more versatile, though I know little of jewelry worn about the neck."

She's technically still a novice to most jewelry, in fact. Though... her own eyes are caught by a pair of earrings in the next case.

Nikola's arm slips around Yrael's waist as he looks at the necklace. "They're both stunning," he agrees. "But I think the second one would suit you better."

And hey, as long as they're not pearls, he'd approve.

Liz smiles at them both, her eyes flickering over the case that's caught Yrael's eyes briefly. There's also a small point, because if Yrael's looking, might as well look at everything, right?

"Second one it is," she murmurs thoughtfully and with a smile as her eyes go back to it. She does like it a lot more than the first. "Thanks for the help." Because they have to look at it on her, after all.

"Ooh, lovely," Yrael grins at where Liz is pointing, leaning into Nikola's side.

"Want to look around some more, or are we ready to continue the tour?"

There's an employee of M.S. Rau a respectful distance away (he knows that Bianca Silvestri likes to be left to look without being bothered, when she drops by).

"I'm ready," Nikola says. "I doubt my credit is good here, and I only carry so much cash..."

More than most people, but not enough to do extensive shopping in a place like this.

Liz glances briefly around before, "I'm ready." She's found what she wants. She's happy and content to have Yrael lead on.

"True, true," Yrael says, sounding slightly disappointed.

As they exit the door, Yrael asks their patience, before stepping back in for a brief moment. A few words are exchanged with the store employee who had been watching them. He nods as Yrael smiles, thanking him before stepping back outside.

It's so much easier when one's friends help choose their midwinter-gift-giving-holiday gifts.

"Well, my friends, where to next? A more official-" if more inaccurate regarding creatures of the night "-tour? Some food perhaps?"

"Drinks first?" Nikola suggests, offering them each an arm again. "If we're to be subjected to ignorant locals, fortification might be required."

Not that it will help in Nikola's case.

Liz takes an arm, grinning. "I like your plan." Might need a drink afterwords too, but one before could help.

Yrael grins, taking Nikola's arm as they walk down the street. "I would suggest Cafe du Monde, but we may need the coffee to help us recover from the tour."

"Let's stop by the place I'll be playing tonight, and we can get a drink there. It'll give me a chance to make sure everything is going to be prepared for later this evening."

"An excellent plan," Nikola says, grinning as well. "And Elizabeth and I can scope out the best seats."

Liz nods, grin brightening. "I've never seen you work before," she murmurs with an amused purr. Read books as a cat, play in bar, mooch fish. But an actual gig, that counts as actual work, this is new.

Yrael only counts such 'work' as fun she gets paid to have.

Yrael grins as they pass a group of street performers by the gates of Jackson Square.

"Now, you'll get to," she grins, reaching for Liz' hand and twirling her to the music.

Nikola chuckles and lets them go, watching in amusement, one hand on his hip.

Liz moves easily, gracefully, in the twirl with a chuckle. She'll keep them twirling and dancing to the music with a grin.

And grab Nikola the first chance she gets. He didn't really think he'd just get to watch, did he?
