Yrael grins as she steps out from the bar and into the deserted alleyway and the New Orleans early evening. She glances over her shoulder to see Liz and Nikola follow her through the door, which closes behind them.

"We've got a while before I have to be there for my gig," she grins at them, "so I thought I'd show you around the French Quarter."

Since, and she may be ever so slightly sheepish about this, she hasn't gotten around to doing so before.

"One of the more famous shops of quality antique furniture, jewelry and various curiosities in the French Quarter. Well worth the visit."

The mun wants their first edition of Sir Isaac Newton's Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica.

Nikola smiles wryly. "Antique is such a vague term."

It's quite possible he'd be considered an antique.

Liz perks slightly at the jewelry part. Antique jewelry is usually sparkly and shiny and pretty.

"It means old but still woth having?" Liz supplies helpfully with a smirk.

"Exactly," Yrael grins.

"A bit like fine wines," and vampires. "They accumulate value as they age."

"A concept I'm quite familiar with," Nikola assures them both.

Clearly he thinks he'll only be getting better with age as well.

Liz chuckles softly, "I'm sure."

She's seen it a bit in her own world as well as present company.

"And hopeful for?" Yrael grins at the vampire as they turn into a very well-looking shop full of interesting articles. Canes, sword-sticks, art pieces, sculpture, jewelry... many fine things populate its display windows.

"M.S. Rau, my friends," she says, holding the door for them.

The smell of the shop, in the mun's opinion, hovers somewhere around divine.

Nikola pointedly ignores the question, giving Yrael a Look. He glances around the shop and smiles.

It feels like home.

Liz can't help but chuckle as she enters the store. Bright eyes flicker over everything briefly, very cat trying to decide which direction to go because everything looks interesting and lovely. Though it won't take her long to detach from the two and head to the jewelry with a sound very much like, 'OoO!'

She's a girl. It's pretty. And she's a cat and it sparkles?

Yrael snickers at the sound Liz makes, shaking her head. Then her eyes are caught by a particular spectacle in gold among the rare furniture, Tiffany lamps and majestic chandeliers, music boxes, and rare, antique canes.

"Oh good," she says, smiling to herself. "They haven't sold it yet."

Her look simply says 'DO WANT.'

Nikola's eyes are drawn more to the canes to begin with, but he smirks when he sees where Yrael's gaze falls. "Thinking of making a purchase, my dear?"

Liz's head comes up to glance in the direction of Yrael and what she's looking at. She herself is standing and eying two specific necklaces.

"How long have you been eying it?" Because Yrael's comment suggests she's been in the store and watching the masterpiece in gold for a while now.

"Oh," Yrael says, shrugging a bit. "A while."

About a year.

"But it's not as though I'd have anywhere to put it, if I went ahead and bought it."

"You couldn't keep it in Milliways?" Nikola asks.

If it wouldn't be such a pain to move, he'd offer to keep it in his manor.

"See if bar would give you like a music room to keep it in?"

Helpful, Liz tries at least?

Moving it to the end of the universe would be a pain and a half, already.

"I suppose I could ask for an extra room," she says, wandering over to (completely ignore the sign that says not to) touch the grand piano's keys.

"The bar room would not be the place for it; I already have my harpsichord and the baby grand I made there. My room is already cluttered, and the back hallway is certainly not the place for something like this."

"What about the library?" Nikola asks, his eyes drawn back to the canes again. "I haven't been in there, but there must be enough room for a piano at least."

His room is a little too cluttered as well. That's what happens when you use half of it for a lab.

Liz's head tilts a little more, "But would those in the library mind when she wants to play?"

Not a question of whether it'd be enjoyable music, just some people go to a library to read in silence.

"Hmm," Yrael muses, then nods.

"I shall ask whoever is in charge there now, since Asar-Suti left. Possibly they won't mind, if I keep the more... controversial music to when there are fewer people there."

If they won't allow it, Yrael will find some other route.

"And if they do mind, what difference does it make?" Nikola asks.

He's of the opinion that other people should change their desires to suit his, for the most part. Sometimes that extends to the desires of his friends.

Liz gives a soft chuckle, "I'm sure it will make some sort of difference, my dear." People could be not nice to things they didn't think belonged.

She smirks at Yrael, "Though you do have a good way of getting people to see things your way."

Yrael figures everyones' desires are there own. She's fine with them as long as they don't infringe upon her own, and would be willing, in some cases, to take action to avoid that happening.

"If they do mind, then they might mind in ways that lead to them taking action, either against me or my piano."

They might hurt the piano, Nikola. Really! Yrael can't let that happen. It's the Bright Shiner's version of a peasant mob turning up at the castle gates with torches and pitchforks.

"I doubt they will mind, though. Music does stimulate the mind wonderfully," she smiles a very-slightly catty smile. "Sometimes even when one is dead-set against letting it do so."

"Anything here catching your gaze as well, my friends?"

If they hurt the piano they'd have to deal with the wrath of both not'cat and electric'vamp.

"Some of the canes look...interesting," Nikola says.

And he can always use accessories that make him look even more dashing (and antiquated).

Liz leaves the jewelry for the moment to come up behind Nikola to see exactly what he's looking for. She never understood the whole, using a cane when you don't actually need a cane thing. But far be it from her to say they weren't pretty or interesting.

"Interesting good or interesting bad?" Her chin may settle on his shoulder.

Comfy perch, thy name is Nikola. =D?

"I thought you might be interested in those. Any in particular catch your fancy?" Yrael grins, reaching for one of the less decorative canes. It's simple in design, a dark polished wood with a curved marbled handle. It makes Yrael smirk, for some reason.
