Yrael has the information they'll need for their... field trip, that which Tesla helpfully procured for them about the Cabal. Yrael, Axel and Nikola have been planning this for quite a while, and since the Cabal seem to be stepping up their activity in regards to searching for Nikola, they decided that acting sooner was better than later.

Getting into Tesla's world is as simple as him opening the door and letting Axel and Yrael step through.

Yrael has maps - this is useful.

The directions she gives are for a destination only a few miles away, on the other side of the city.

Axel nods.

"Stay close." And he takes off, moving quickly, in a ready stance, just in case.

There's no more than a flicker of yellow eyes in the dark though, before he's pulling open the portal out.

Yrael brings up the rear, keeping the flimsy mostly-human between them in case something untoward does happen.

The portal deposits them in front of a large wrought-iron gate, in front of a massive gothic-style building, towering up towards the night sky, the stars beyond blurred by the lights of the city on the other side of the river.

"You should be all right from here, I should hope," Yrael grins.

"Indeed," Helen says, still rather unsettled, looking from one to the other and back again. "Won't you two come in? If not for a place to stay, then for a rest and a cup of tea?" Despite weirding her out and being obviously dangerous, they had saved her. She figures someday her sense of decency will get her killed - that doesn't stop her, however.

Axel gives Yrael a questioning quirk of the eyebrow - he wouldn't mind stopping for tea, if Yrael doesn't.

Yrael looks tempted as well. "It's very kind of you, Helen Magnus, but I think... we might need to work on keeping that low-profile. Even from people like you. We're intending to lie lower than the lying-low your organization can provide, but we'll pass on your regards to our mutual friend, all right?

Helen begins to say she understands and ask who this mutual friend is, but is interrupted by a burst of static from the intercom beside the gate, and a rough voice asking where in the world she'd disappeared to and why, relating that there were urgent reports coming in from the heads of the other Sanctuaries, asking for her -

Axel can take a hint, and he uses the opportunity to open a portal to take them both--

Away.

She turns back from the intercom only in time to see the portal close behind them.

Yrael and Axel walk along the Dark Paths - this time, there is a destination.

"I think Nikola owes us supper, or at least some very expensive drinks," Yrael murmurs.

"Preferably both," Axel replies, grinning big.

"Yes," Yrael agrees.

The Cabal agents that had been deployed to make sure things had gone off without a hitch, though disturbed by the rumors they'd heard from their higher-ups about goings-on at other facilities around the world, aren't expecting to be hit from behind as they search the wreckage for remains.

When Axel and Yrael leave once more, on their way back to Rio, the explosion-blasted wreckage has a fresh coat of blood and charcoal adorning it.

Though they never pass out of the world's protective 'bubble,' the two of them can't help but draw the yellow eyes... and more of them. And more.

"This is getting a little old," Axel gripes.

"I say we call the job complete," Yrael says as they head towards Rio. "As complete as it's going to be."

"Sounds good to me. I could go for some nice dinner right now."

"There's sure to be something spicy enough for your tastes in Rio."

"I can always make them add peppers," Axel replies.

"You could run over to the nearest sushi place and steal their wasabi," Yrael suggests. "And some sushi."

For Yrael. What are friends for, right Axel? ^_^

"How do you know they have sushi?"

"It's the nearest sushi place," Yrael says, grinning. "No matter how far away it is - it might not even be in Rio - it'll still be the nearest place that has sushi."

Axel? Just laughs.

Axel knows Yrael's views on fish.

Yrael just smirks.

Still, as much fun as they've had today, he's ready to be done. "We... should be there soon?" He has not the skill with the Dark Paths Axel does, but he has gotten better.

"Yeah," Axel replies. "Just a little father... Here--"

And then he's pulling open the way out, and gives Yrael a gallant bow, gesturing for his friend to precede him.

Yrael leads them through, back into the world, and the front room of Nikola's place outside of Rio.

It takes Nikola a minute to greet them because it takes him a minute to realize they've arrived. When he gets there, though, he's grinning.

"Well? Am I hassle free for the foreseeable future?"

"What, you haven't been watching the news?" Axel asks, mock-offended.

"And here I was hoping news reporters would do the reporting for us," Yrael smiles dryly, removing the luckily unfried laptop from his pack. "Apart from a few pictures we took as mementos, they likely have better documentation."

"You should be substantially less hassled now, at least, Nikola," he says, the dry smile becoming more dry and a bit less of a smile. "A solid majority of the targets were legitimate."

Meaning some of them weren't. Which the informant had to have known.

Meaning she knew who she had been talking to.

"Why bother when I knew I'd be getting a firsthand account?"

Nikola follows that same thread of logic, and the grin slips from his face to be replaced by something considerably less pleasant.

"That bitch!"

Give him a moment, and he'll actually have something substantial to say about htat.
