Yrael has the information they'll need for their... field trip, that which Tesla helpfully procured for them about the Cabal. Yrael, Axel and Nikola have been planning this for quite a while, and since the Cabal seem to be stepping up their activity in regards to searching for Nikola, they decided that acting sooner was better than later.

Getting into Tesla's world is as simple as him opening the door and letting Axel and Yrael step through.

"Want to take the fire-escape to get down to the street, just to be ironic?" Yrael grins, looking over at Axel.

Axel laughs.

"Sure!"

Being two people with balancing skills that verge upon being ridiculous makes getting down the fire escape and down to the street a much more... creative endeavor than it might be for normal people.

Who says going down the fire escape means actually taking the stairs?

"Coffee, then," Yrael says, landing lightly on his feet on the dusty street. "How long do you think it'll take the Assassins to report back?"

"Depends," Axel replies. "They're smarter than Dusks, and they're... Well, they're mine. We should have time for coffee and a snack."

"I know some of what they're capable of," Yrael says, smiling slightly. "They've been helpful today already. Multiple times."

When you just gotta get that last computer to fry, the one you might have overlooked while everything else was going on, or finding that last CEO hiding in the secret cabinet that's paneled to look like part of the surrounding wall.

Can't hide in the walls from something that can go right through them.

"Yeah. Hey, two coffees, and some of whatever it is that smells good," Axel calls to a waiter, flopping himself onto one of the comfy cushion/chairs out in the sun.

Yrael follows, lounging in the comfy chair beside Axel's.

Anyone who didn't know these two pale guys would want to warn them about the truly horrible sunburn they were going to get, sitting exposed to the sun like that. Except that some sense of self-preservation keeps people from ever actually drawing attention to themselves long enough to offer their unnecessary warning.

"I hope the other targets aren't as much of a disappointment as this one." At least there's coffee and warmth to make up for it.

"...Yeah," Axel replies. "Well... Maybe they changed things, since your friend got his intel?"

"So quickly that there is now a decades-old apartment building where there would have been an office building a few months ago? I doubt it."

Axel snorts softly.

"I know a guy who could do it, but I kinda doubt he's here."

No Gamblers, not enough Heartless activity.

"Someone we'd rather wasn't here anyway, I take it?" Yrael says, smiling up at the waiter who brings their coffee and a plate of the delicious-smelling snacks Axel had ordered.

"Luxord," Axel replies. "Number X, the Gambler of Fate. His element is Time."

Pause.

"And he cheats."

Yrael gazes at Axel a moment.



"Who wouldn't cheat, with an element like that?"

He'd figure the tendency to cheat would be build-in.

"Well, yeah, still."

[mogget_cat]

"Yeah, yeah," Yrael says, snagging one of the snacks and munching on it. "It's never as much fun when you're not the one doing the cheating."

He totally understands.

Axel sticks his tongue out, and then promptly leans back and sips his coffee, as if none of it ever happened.

Yrael grins cheekily, settling back and sipping his own coffee as well.

Mmmmmm, good coffee, dark as sin.

Axel's coffee is half-way done, when a pair of Assassins finally boils up out of the ground.

Axel holds up a finger, and tips his head slightly, taking the report.

"...Nothing. A parking structure," he says after a moment, shaking his head.

"Which?" Yrael says, setting his coffee down and pulling out his laptop. "Istanbul?"

It was closest of the three remaining locations.

Another headtilt, and a nod.

"Yeah."

Yrael makes a short growl-sound under his breath. "That one was supposed to be a facility where they keep some of their back-up records and information, too."

"Great."

Axel gives the Assassins a silent dismissal, and they melt back into the scenery.

Yrael munches another of the snacks with more annoyance than is necessary, then sits back to sip again at his coffee. "We can hope the other two result in better news."

"Yeah."

Axel munches a snack, and ignores the odd looks he's getting, from being a man in head-to-toe black leather, here.

They both are used to ignoring looks from those not used to seeing such unlikely-looking people.

"The last two targets are supposed to be a couple of underground facilities. One's another dedicated to backing up a portion of their records; it looks like they don't store the back-ups of their records and information all in one place - probably to keep people like us from doing what we're doing. The other is purely research and experimental - should be mostly labs."
